Double Crochet Striped Blanket Pattern

To Start:  Chain your foundation row to desired length plus 2 chains, this is your turning chain for double crochet.

Row 1:  Double Crochet in each chain until the end of the row.  When you get to the end, cut your yarn and knot it off by pulling the end through the last loop on your crochet hook.

Row 2:  Using a different color, make a slip knot on your hook.  Insert the hook into the SPACE between your last two double crochets.  (You'll be working into the space for the entire blanket, which is what makes the little "V's" that give the blanket it's unique look.)  With your crochet hook in the space, make a single crochet and then ch2.  Double crochet in every space until the end of the row.  In the last space double crochet TWICE in the SAME SPACE.  Cut the yarn and knot off.

Row 3:  Flip your blanket and, with a new color on your crochet hook, insert the hook in the first space between your last two double crochets where you made a "V".  Double crochet in each space across the row and always make 2 double crochets in the last space.

Continue like this until you reach your desired blanket size.
